Artist Statement

I work with repurposed materials that encompass the themes of identity, cultural manipulation, and memory. Using materials and techniques alien to a traditional repertoire, I seek to subvert the typical understanding of crafts and the making process. Challenging social stereotypes, mythologies, and function of materials, I endeavour to bring questions to the surface.

Repurposing materials and techniques, I create objects which comment on personal and universal experiences. I experience my work as an exercise/process in shoaling ideas across time, place, memory, and identity. I associate the disassociated.
